Environmental Policy.

As a major producer of lubricants and industrial fluids, Fuchs Lubricants (UK) plc (Fuchs) is fully committed to producing high quality products for our Customers whilst striving to reduce our environmental impact in purchasing, manufacturing, distribution, waste generation, energy consumption and disposal. This commitment is in harmony with the Company’s health and safety policy and quality policy.

Fuchs recognises its role in the protection of the environment and under this policy seeks to:

  • Comply with all current and relevant legislation, other requirements and with industry best practice.
  • Provide suitable and sufficient training and information to Company employees, visitors and contractors to ensure implementation of this policy.
  • Continually monitor and improve all our activities and products, and by setting appropriate targets and objectives reduce pollution to a practicable minimum.
  • Set objectives and targets which are fundamental to the Company’s continual improvement programme. Information from a variety of sources is gathered and suitable objectives and targets identified. These are decided annually by the Environmental Management Committee, a management programme established, and progress against these improvement measures are monitored and analysed at quarterly meetings and communicated to staff.
  • Reduce our impact on the environment by designing all processes and products in such a way that environmental impact is minimized.
  • Follow and promote good sustainability practice including reductions, reuse, recycling and recovery wherever financially and logistically feasible. We aim to reduce the environmental impact of all our activities and to help our Customers and partners to do the same.
Our work has a significant impact on the quality of people’s lives, not only here and now but in the future. We acknowledge this responsibility and aim to exceed both our Customer and partners expectations and those of future stakeholders.

Fuchs is committed to continually improving its environmental awareness in the supply of lubricants and industrial fluids, by informing and training our workforce and our Customers in the correct use, storage, and ultimate disposal of our products.

This policy is reviewed annually.



Health and Safety Policy.
  1. The management of Fuchs Lubricants (UK) plc is committed to ensuring the health, safety and welfare of its employees, so far as is reasonably practicable and to continually improve standards of health and safety as an integrated part of responsible management.

    Although the company operates in an industry which is considered to be not free from hazard, it is the management’s objective to reduce the incidence of work related injuries, illnesses and ill health to an absolute minimum by providing working conditions which comply with its duties under current relevant legislation.

  2. The extent of the Company’s objective is that, as a minimum, it shall to protect its own employees and shall seek to protect others affected by its activities.

  3. The management shall:

    1. Promote health and safety, to ensure that all processes and systems of work are designed to take account of health and safety and are properly supervised at all times.

    2. Observe legal obligations, Company rules and any other OH&S requirements.

    3. Require others, including non-employees to adopt similar standards.

  4. The management shall:

    1. Be committed to improving standards in every area of business, including protection against occupational health risks.

    2. Undertake not to make, handle , use, sell, transport or dispose of a product unless it can be done without endangering persons and in an environmentally sound manner.

  5. The management shall provide organisation and arrangements to make the policy work, specifically:

    1. Information, instruction and training as is necessary to enable work activities to be undertaken without risk to health and safety.

    2. Facilities and arrangements to enable employees and their safety representatives to raise issues of health and safety.

  6. The management shall provide organisation and arrangements for health and safety as detailed separately including regular monitoring of the policy, organisation and arrangements to ensure that the objectives are being achieved.

  7. Objectives and target setting is a fundamental part of the Company’s continual improvement programme. Quality Policy.

The declared policy of Fuchs Lubricants (UK) plc is to secure, retain and develop trade with our customers through a policy of Commitment to Quality and Continuous Improvement in both Product and Customer Service Quality.

Specific action plans are implemented for continuous improvement in all our processes and services to reduce cost, minimise waste and to enhance the quality of all our end products.

Every employee must accept responsibility for the function they perform and contribute to the continuous improvement of methods of operation in order to maximise efficiency and minimise costs in all areas.

Health, Safety and Environmental Good Working Practices are utilised both to minimise potential risks to employees and ensure product safety. We have a duty to respect and to protect the environment in all our work practices and especially in formulating environmentally friendly products.

As a responsible, professional Company, Fuchs Lubricants (UK) Plc aims to comply with all regulatory, statutory and legal requirements.

In partnership with our customers, potential customers, suppliers and associates, we develop new products and improve the performance and Quality of our existing products to meet or exceed their requirements.

Quality Objectives are established at relevant functions and levels within the Company. When setting objectives consideration is given to corporate objectives, current and future needs, markets served, output from management reviews, current product and process performance and to the levels of satisfaction of all interested parties. These objectives are measurable and reviewed and revised as necessary at monthly intervals: a full review and revision is conducted once per annum. Performance to objective targets is communicated to all relevant personnel within the Company by means of notice boards and regular meetings.

Our aim is to achieve excellence in the Quality of all our services to customers and other stakeholders.

Only as a team, and embracing this policy, will we be able to attain our declared mission and deliver Total Quality Excellence.

This Quality Policy is reviewed annually.



Sustainability Policy.

Sustainability is one of the core elements of Fuchs Lubricants (UK) Plc business strategy, delivering benefits equally for both our Customers and our Company. We aim to follow and to promote good sustainability practice including reductions, reuse, recycling and recovery wherever financially and logistically feasible to reduce the environmental impacts of all our activities and to help our Customers and partners to do the same.
Our work has a significant impact on the quality of people's lives, not only here and now but in the future. We acknowledge this responsibility and can hopefully measure up to both our Customer and partners expectations and those of future generations. The real worth of sustainable solutions are not just seen as commercial and immediate but rather as long term investments for the future. With this at the forefront of our business outlook and approach we are firmly focused on tackling a wide range of problems such as pollution and our carbon footprint, energy usage and effective waste management in ways that deliver real tangible 'best value' to our Customers and partners and treat the environment we live and work in with the respect it rightfully deserves.
