Round Seven: Nothin’ Shakin’ (But the Leaves on the Trees)30 Sep 2012

I'm finding out what love is all about Every day at three when school lets out I'll see my baby I get weak in the knees There's nothin' shakin' but the leaves on the trees Why must she be such a dog gone tease There's nothin' shakin' but the leaves on the trees
She's got a way that makes me act like a fool Spends my money then she treats me cruel I´m beggin for her kisses on bended knees Give me some lovin' baby please please please
I keep trying hard to make her mine Some day the wind will blow the sun will shine Until the time she puts my heart at ease There's nothin' shakin' but the leaves on the trees She lock my heart and throw away the key There's nothin' shakin' but the leaves on the trees *
It’s the very last day of September and the final race of the 2012 season. Shorter days and colder nights mean that many of the trees on the route to Donington are already glowing gold in the watery sunshine. A carpet of fallen foliage covers the ground. High above, leaves shake free from their vantage points and flutter blindly to the ground.
18th and 17th in the two races of Round Seven mean that the closest I got this year to a lusted after podium placing was the 7th place I scored at Oulton. My desire for a top 10 Championship spot is also thwarted and at the end of it all I’m 13th.
If you have been, thanks for reading.

Special “thank yous” to those without whom none of this would’ve been possible: SB, KPM Racing, Fuchs Lubricants, Arpadis and the boys and girls at Volkswagen Racing.
*Nothin’ Shakin’ written by Alvin Lee, who probably didn’t have the Volkswagen Racing Cup in mind at the time. Nevertheless, check out the version by Dr. Feelgood, a genuine porky prime cut.
